Muffin Tops and Mayhem

To lose one pair of leggings may regarded as misfortune…

In the last 2 days I’ve had to retire two pairs of my favourite leggings. They were TK Maxx’s finest and they served me well. The problem is that I have got too small for them and their bagginess is really quite unbecoming. Think Max Wall in the wrong trousers.

I was hoping that they would hang on for a few more weeks but they simply wont stay up. My only option if I want to continue wearing them would be to safety pin them to my T-shirt. I can’t do squats, on facetime with Luke or on the landing on my own, if my sodding leggings are on a mission to make me moon at the neighbours.

So now I’m on the horns of a dilemma – I need more leggings because I’m exercising 6 days a week but I’m probably not quite a small size yet and I don’t really want to buy medium ones which will (hopefully) be falling down again in a few weeks.

I know, I know, its a first world problem.

The other issue I have is that my legs have been completely and utterly spoilt by my Sweaty Betty Cropped Power Leggings. If my legs had their way I would sleep in them and they have put in a formal request that I start wearing them to the office.

The bottom line (no pun intended) is that my legs have become sportswear snobs. My suggestion that I buy a few cheap pairs from Primark to ‘see us through to a small size’ was met with sneering and derision. The actual response was “if you think that I’m squatting in Primark leggings then you can jog on”.

My legs’ new found addiction to high quality sportswear is clearly going to be a problem when, at some point, the world resumes some semblance of normality.
