ABOUT

The story so far…..

In March 2020 I was 2.5 stone overweight, unfit and unhappy. I’d spent 18 years trying every diet under the sun and failing.

I had become disillusioned with being unable to achieve a ‘perfect body’ in a short space of time. I was sick of lies and vacant promises of the diet industry.

When a family member was diagnosed with terminal cancer and I decided that I HAD to do something about my weight. It was no longer about “getting thin”, it was about building long term health and minimising my risk of cancer. In the next few years I will turn 50 and I want to be as fit, strong and healthy as possible.

I decided to eat well and exercise with a fitness coach.

It was never my intention to write a blog. My food and exercise journals were supposed to be for my trainer’s eyes only. During the 2020 lockdown I entertained my friends with texts about what I was going through. My friends convinced me that I should write a blog.

My journals are completely accurate – if I ate crisps or roast potatoes, I admitted it, photographed them and enjoyed them.

I have nothing to sell and no products to promote.

This is just an honest account of an overweight, middle aged woman with a full time job and two kids trying to get healthy – properly, long-term healthy.

The ‘Progress’ section contains my week by week progress photos (eek) and daily food/exercise journals. Previous blogs are in the ‘Blog’ section.

Thank you for sharing my journey.
