Getting back into it has been hard. It is SO much easier not to do cardio after a 12 hour day in the office. But after Luke gave me a pep talk on Monday I have applied myself diligently.
I have increased the amount I’m drinking to 3 litres and eaten more in general and in particular more veg. I’ve trained hard and reaped the rewards.
I don’t judge my progress by the numbers on the scales; I know that ‘weight’ is meaningless and often doesn’t reflect what my size is. However, on Monday morning I was 10st 3lbs and on Friday I was 10st 1lb.
I’m calling that a win.
Something happened on Tuesday that flicked a switch in my head. I was reviewing my journals and I realised that in mid-September I was the same weight that I am now. Eight whole weeks of buggering about with little progress.
In my head I have a litany of excuses – many of which I have written about. But I can bleat on about it all and boo hoo until the cows come home, but at some point I have to take responsibility for my dismal lack of progress.
Yes I’ve been stressed, yes I’ve had a whole load of crap to deal with but if this week has taught me anything it’s that everything is so much easier if you are properly hydrated, eating enough and exercising.
Looking back at this week’s food and exercise journals I have to say that I’m particularly pleased with my efforts on Monday…
